From stars to comedy, these are the best podcasts around.

Posted by NDrive In: Stuff We Like

We at Karta GPS love podcasts, they come in all themes and sizes and are perfect to listen to while you go for a run or to keep you company on your daily commute. Since our team is so fond of this relatively new media, it makes sense that we would share some of our interests with our audience and maybe, who knows, introduce them to something that they really grow to like.

WTF - With Marc Maron

Marc Maron is a good comedian, you may even describe him as a pretty decent actor or as a good enough guitar player, but it was his interviewing skills that made someone like former President Barack Obama sit at Marc’s Garage for a one-on-one conversation.

The Joe Rogan Experience

Joe Rogan can hold a conversation like no one. His podcasts, that usually can go on for three hours, are always a pleasure to hear and that’s all on Rogan’s good spirited personality. Some of the most recurring themes are: mixed martial arts, comedy, bow-hunting and health.

The Way I Heard It – With Mike Rowe

Mike Rowe describes his podcast as “a podcast for curious minds with a short attention span” and he delivers on this promise with real-life short stories that due to their well-crafted structure, always make you drop your jaw – A real storyteller this one.

The Monday Morning Podcast – With Bill Burr

Bill Burr has been described as a “comedian’s comic” and his Monday Morning Podcast consists mostly of Bill’s angry rants on all kinds of topics, but also his relationship advices (requested by the listeners).

The Tim Ferriss Show

Tim Ferriss is a best-seller author on self-development and lifestyle-design. On his show he interviews world-class performers and tries to deconstruct their habits and routines into actions you can use to improve your life.

Hardcore History Addendum

I could listen to Dan Carlin talk about history for hours and in fact I have. His original Hardcore History show episodes could sometimes go for 6 hours and still people would hang on his every word while learning about the Mongols or World War I. This new show focuses on smaller, dissectable topics.

The Church of What’s Happening Right Now

Joey “Coco” Diaz may very well be the world’s funniest man. His guests consist mainly of comedians and some of the conversations that go on in there must rank among some of the most outrageous things (in a funny way) ever recorded. Just the way he torments his sidekick Lee Syatt, is a show on its own.

Tiny Desk Concerts

This one is for all the music lovers. Tiny Desk concerts consist of great and renowned bands playing an acoustic gig that makes the all experience feel very private and personal.

Radiolab

Radiolab is really interesting: it focuses on topics of both scientific and philosophical nature, but in a very light-hearted manner and with greater production value than any other podcast on this list.

Jocko Podcast

Jocko Willink is a former Navy Seal Commander turned author and leadership adviser for businesses. On his podcast he dissects books and talks about very hot topics such as personal responsibility and self-discipline on his very spartan style.
